WWII WW2 WIA MIA KIA telegrams same soldier 75th Infantry Div WOW!!!These telegrams were likely sent to Portland, Oregon to the mother of S/Sgt James Steele of the 75th Infantry Division, 290th Infantry Regiment after he was wounded in Belgium on Christmas Eve, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. She recevied another telegram when he was listed as missing in action in Germany on March 30, 1945 and later reported as actually killed in action on March 29.
According to records, S/SGT Steele is buried in Plot E, Row 5 Grave 7 in the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.
A great find of WWII combat history and an American hero.
Please see photos for condition. The WIA and MIA telegrams have some slight tears but the KIA telegram is completely intact.
