    Description

WWII original V-Mail letter written by Doctor Lt. Col. J. Warren Hundley to his wife April 6, 1945 from Belgium of the 76th General Hospital. The V-Mail is censored
    Lt. Col. J. Warren Hundley.
    Doctor
    Lt. Col. J. Warren Hundley
became a Major at the end of the war and I believe was in-charge of the entire 76th General Hospital.
The letters come with two small photos of the Major and the
    76th General Hospital
    .
    These are newly printed photos.
Also included in the group is a
    Facsimile
of a letter he sent to his wife dated April 23
    rd
1945, and some corresponding dated Stars and Stripes newspaper articles
    (also Facsimiles).
In the letter he writes about the Holocaust,
    Eisenhower and
    the liberation of the camps.
In this Facsimile letter he writes this:
“These are cold facts and not propaganda. I've talked to many of the ones who survived and they verify it all. This is the kind of enemy were up against and who MUST be dealt with accordingly. I'm delighted that gen. Eisenhower has requested the delegation of Congressmen & publishers to come over and see for themselves, and only hope they return in time to report to the Conference …”
    About
    Major J. Warren Hundley.
I have just started to research Major Hundley so I don't have a lot of details about him but the 76th General Hospital was an all tent hospital and was a major hospital at the time. Dr.
    Hundley
was at the hospital during the discovery and liberation of the German prison camps. Also he there
Jan. 8th 1945, when a V-1 ‘buzz bomb’ struck the hospital, killing 24 patients and staff, injuring another 20, and causing heavy damage to installations and equipment,
    Liège, Belgium.
Where is the value in this letter grouping and why the Facsimiles?
When you buy a WWII letter of this type you are not just purchasing a common artifact of WWII, this letter
is unique and an investment on two levels:
First, it preserves history that will be of value to future generations.
Second, it will go up in value as years go by.
In this grouping I provide a number of facsimiles that give additional eyewitness evidence to the Holocaust and the importance of the Doctor who wrote the letter and his individual contribution in defeating the
    Third Reich
    during World War II.
The facsimiles also add value, they may very well be more significant than the letter itself because what the facsimiles do is tell a deeper contextual story about this
    Doctor
    who worked
in liberating the world from the
    Third Reich.
I believe it is the story or narrative that is the most significant aspect of these artifacts that you are purchasing.
Condition: letters in good original condition, see photos for content.
