    Description

Good morning all. I am happy to have another vintage push drill. This one is a Stanley Yankee Bell System B No. 41Y, Made in USA, with 9 different bits.  As I say every time I list one of these, you need to have one even in this age of cordless electric drills, for access and sometimes even for safety, like up on a ladder.
This drill had a working life, but the chrome plating is generally solid. There is wear and some dark spotting on the handle knurling (see pictures). The drill and the chuck work fine. This drill has the newer style spring-loaded chuck.
You unscrew the knurled collar at the bottom (i.e. by the handle) of the middle portion of the drill to allow the handle to slide open and access the bits (8th picture at left). Plastic bit dividers.
There are 9 different bits. This is an assembled set of bits - finding a push drill with a full set of clean bits is an extremely lucky occurrence.  All of the bits cut fine. There are 7 double-fluted bits, a 5/64", 3/32", 1/8", 9/64", 5/32" and 11/64". Plus I have included two Bell-System type twist bits, a #30 (.1285) and a #33 (.1130). Do NOTE that these drills are for softwood - to drill hardwood with them is asking alot. Also, do not put too much pressure on the drill when using the smaller-diameter bits - you can bend or even break them, which is annoying and which can be dangerous.
