    Description

    This is a darling hairpin box from c. 1900 called, "A Woman's Friend," quadruple plate, made by the Pairpoint company and distributed through Sears and maybe others.  It measures 3 1/8" long, 1 5/8" deep and slightly less than 1" tall.  It has old hairpins in it.  It also has 2 pieces of paper: one is the Sears catalog page showing the item for sale and the other paper has a little history of the Pairpoint Mfg. Co, one of the premier manufacturers of silverplate in the country.  Has a very small bump in the upper right corner of the lid.
