  • Condition: This appears to be a very early APH-5 and has the very thick rubber around the lower edge of the helmet. So the photos are a big part of the description. Has a coat of gray paint---maybe indicating Navy at some point. Three pads present and will need to be re-glued, Comes with both visors and installed visor goes up and down. Has early rubber ear cups that appear in good shape. They were covered with the silk protective covers, see photos. The helmet carry bag has broken zipper but has a good label with NSN. The helmet also has an excellent label. Look at the photo. Helmet Contract number begins with N so suspect it might be a Navy order. The two patches on the helmet are for the Infantry School at Fort Benning, GA and the 7th Logistical Command in Korea I believe in the early 1960s. White name tag also early 60s vintage. I do have the rank and initials of the Army fellow whose name tag is present. Am now too old to even think of working on the helmet, but good project.

    Description

I only ship to a US address, but no longer to Hawaii or Alaska.
Important Note: If you live in an apartment make sure to take measures where your packages are not
just left outside your door where any passerby could take them. Perhaps you can put up a note on the
outside of the door, asking USPS to knock on the door, and if no answer, to NOT leave the package but
DO leave a card telling me a delivery was attempted and that I can pick up the package at the USPS.
I send all of my packages with a tracking number. Once there is a record that the package has been
delivered---it is out of my hands and I have fulfilled my obligation as to Ebay rules.
For Sale: Early APH-5 Gentex, Owner Identified, 8415-577-4142
Selling as a collectible item, for restoration and or display, and not for use.  I have provided photos and a
detailed description. The helmet with bag is a survivor and came to me after being in an attic for over 30 years.
Was worn by an Army SP/6 who is identified. I will include his initials with the helmet in case you want to
    research.
