    Description

    This is an original WWII issue load adjuster for the famous C-46 Commando. It was a twin engine transport, introduced in 1941. It was a maintenance nightmare, powered by two R-2800-51 Double Wasp Engines. The C-46 served with distinction during WWII and was a major workhorse. Post war, the aircraft operated worldwide under civilian ownership. During Vietnam, the CIA operated a fleet of C-46 Commandos for use in the Air America airline. Currently there are still a handful
    in service in different locations around the world. The load adjuster was required for every flight and was not to be removed from the aircraft. The Load Adjuster calculated the center of gravity when loaded with fuel, cargo and crew. This is in used very good condition and includes the always missing cursor.
