Exceptional Antique Rogers Smith & Co Aesthetic Movement Porcelain Lined Pitcher with Hinged LidThis piece was created between
1877-1904
Original design Patent June 13, 1868.
Made in MERIDEN, CT - USA.
Very unusual, this piece has a porcelain liner built into the pitcher.
Design features an all over Hand tooled pattern with an engraved cartouche of a tree and mountain.
Heavily embossed top and bottom borders of stylized flowers.
The handle is heavily sculpted with flowers & scrolls.
Hinged Lid.
This piece is clearly marked on the bottom:
It is marked with the number 200 on the bottom and on the hinged lid.
Also hallmarked Rogers,
Smith & Co. Meriden, CT.
Very Good condition.
There is a minor dent and there is some pitting.
But the silver plate is in great shape, no metal showing through.
Porcelain liner is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks.
There is a 2" area on the top rim with loss of silver.

This is a remarkable piece, it shows very well.
Great example of the American Aesthetic Movement.
The pitcher will be lovingly packed for safe transport.
