King KI-200 Omni Localizer Converter-Indicator - 1970s vintageOne
Type KI-200 Omni Localizer Converter-Indicator
aircraft instrument
as manufactured by
King Radio Corporation, Merriam, Kansas.
This unit is identified as such by a metal data tag on the instrument case.
This is a
3 1/8" panel mount
unit. Power information isn't listed. I'm assuming this is 1970s or 1980s vintage, but do not see any dated inspection stamps or OH marks or dates upon it.
Nice crisp and bright white face markings on face plate. Yellow needle. Red localizer indicator. Nice bright markings. Great shape with no sun fading or dust or dirt or bugs behind the glass. Nice piece of warehouse stored aircraft instrumentation. I see no signs of modifications. Very clean. It is unusually heavy; 2.8 pounds or so of instrument. Heading indicator knob at 7 o'clock position works perfectly with no binding or hesitation.
Un-tested by us. N
o other paperwork or pedigree documentation. Came to us in a warehouse inventory. It's a little dusty, but otherwise great. No drop damage or heavy dents to the case, and no scratches to the glass. Shaft is straight; no bends here. One minor little bump on the metal case. Neat old technology.
Unit is metal cased. This one did not bake in an aircraft cockpit and is not sun faded. Exceptionally clean electrical connection point. Nice connector threads on the back to the King small 3-pin Cannon plug. We can't help with an electrical connector for this unit, unfortunately. Again, there are no other pieces of paperwork or documentation with this instrument. We have no way to test it for you, so assume this is a really nice core or exceptional panel filler.
