An absolutely gorgeous 1872 S better date seated liberty dollar graded AU 55 by NGC. It has an exceptional quality strike with very choice original surfaces. It even has some very attractive blue and purple toning among both sides when being tilted in the light. This coin is absolutely stunning for the grade and looks much nicer in person than what is shown in the photos provided. It has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder.
This San Francisco Mint coin has a total mintage 9,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 750 have survived in all grades. It is one of just 14 graded About Uncirculated 55 by NGC.
