13 RUSSELL JENNINGS # 4-16 SPUR AUGER BITS & BOX, EXTRAORDINARY CONDITION

13 Vintage  RUSSELL JENNINGS Matching 100 AUGER Bit Set in 3 Tiered Box.
All are close to new some appear unused, although listed as used, no wear to cutting ears.
Never any rust and
hardly
any marks on the shafts where they enter a bit brace. Sizes
are 4/16 thru16/16.
As shown on the near perfect label, Russell Jennings
got his original patent on these in
year 1855.
Stanley later bought the rights to this patent in 1944. This
set pre-dates
Stanley so it is one
of the older sets and does not mention Stanley on the label. .
Set may be approx. 100 +/-years old. The box shows minor wear but overall it is in
excellent vintage
condition.
The box measures 9.5" X 4" X 3.7"
